VOLUNTEER ROLES EWOB 2024

No event without volunteers. For almost 25 years EWOB has been made a success thanks to numerous volunteers, providing services to make the event possible and creating an atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. And we are proud of that!

We want volunteers to enjoy the event too. Volunteers will therefor be scheduled on 2 hour shifts mainly. Volunteers have free entry to the concert hall.

We ask all volunteers to complete the form, also those who have volunteered before and already have let us know by email or otherwise they will be available to volunteer.


EWOB 2024 will be 9-10-11 May 2024. Volunteers will be scheduled from 8 to 12 May 2024 depending on roles.

To help you as a guidance, below is a description of the different roles that need to be filled, with main tasks to be carried out within the roles:

Administration
Welcoming bands that showcase at EWOB.
Keeping administration of the band’s arrival, checking and completing documents (e.g. tax documents).
Handing out envelope with wristbands and mealvouchers.
Providing any information the band need.

Sales
Welcoming visitors at EWOB.
Selling tickets (wristbands).
Keeping administration of sold tickets.
Providing any information visitors need.

Concert hall entry
Welcoming visitors at EWOB.
Checking tickets (wristbands) at the concert hall entry door.
Checking prohibited goods and articles (e.g. glassware, instruments).
Referring visitors to sales if needed.
Providing any information visitors need.

Concert hall monitor
Welcoming visitors at EWOB.
Monitoring safety (e.g. emergency exits, health issues).
Monitoring disturbance.
Guiding visitors to a seat if needed.
Providing help to disabled visitors.

Band host
Welcoming bands one hour before their scheduled showcase on the main stage and guiding them to the backstage green room.
Providing any information the band need.
Communicating with the MC on duty.
Monitoring access to the backstage green room.
Monitoring safety in the backstage green room.

MC
Welcoming bands on stage at their scheduled showcase.
Communicating with sound engineers, monitoring sound check.
Announcing bands on stage and making other public announcements.

Instrument storage
Accepting, storing and returning instruments.
Keeping administration of stored instruments, ensuring the rightful owner comes to reclaim it.
Monitoring safety of stored instruments.

Campsite administration and safety
Welcoming visitors at EWOB campsite.
Selling tickets (wristbands).
Keeping administration of sold tickets.
Checking tickets (wristbands) at the campsite entry gate.
Monitoring parking of vehicles and campers.
Guiding visitors to a campsite spot if needed.
Monitoring safety (e.g. emergency routes, health issues).
Monitoring disturbance.
Servicing sanitary facilities and waste bins.
Providing help to disabled visitors.
Providing any information visitors need.

Campsite build up and break down
Building up campsite on Wednesday 8 May 2024.
Breaking down campsite on Sunday 12 May 2024.

Shuttle driver
Only open to holders of valid driver’s licence.
Transporting visitors and band members to and from different locations.
Keeping administration of shuttle rides.
Providing help to disabled visitors.
Providing any information visitors need.

First aid and fire safety
Only open to holders of valid first aid (Eerste hulp) and/or company fire and safety (BHV) certificates and professional emergency workers.
Providing initial emergency medical care.
Providing initial emergency evacuation in case of fire or other safety incident.
Communicating with emergency services.
Keeping administration of any incident.
